Questions you may have:

  • When can I afford to retire?
  • What can I do to help increase the chances that I won’t outlive my money?
  • How can I maintain my lifestyle in retirement?
  • If I sell my business – what next?
  • How should I invest my savings?

KiwiSaver

KiwiSaver is an easy, affordable way to save for your retirement. The magic of KiwiSaver is that it gives benefits that you can’t get from any other investment.

  • Appealing low fee structure.
  • A minimum 3% contribution from your employer.
  • An annual contribution from the Government for those aged 18-64.
  • First home withdrawal eligibility.
  • You may qualify for up to $10,000 from the Government as a First Home Grant.
  • It’s not just for the ‘young ones’ – it’s open to those of any age.

It can be challenging to know if you’re getting the most out of your KiwiSaver. My role is to help you to maximise your contributions and ensure investing makes sense.

Working together we will ensure that you are invested in the right fund for you. Investing in line with your goals, appetite for investment risk and the choice to invest ethically, without compromising on returns.

Superannuation & Pension Plans

Are your offshore superannuation or pension plans still fit for purpose?

It may well be that you have a plan that you have ‘lost touch with’ and need help tracking down.

Some policies are able to be transferred to New Zealand which can be hugely beneficial for our clients. However, there are a number of things to consider – eligibility, options, payouts, currency and the tax implications.

Every policy and every person is different. It is important to get the best advice to help you to make the right decision on whether to transfer your investments to New Zealand.

Investment Advice

Retiring well means reaching your goals and living without the fear that you are going to run out of money. Maximising the assets that you have worked so hard to attain, with sound, robust investment solutions.

We will discuss your goals, aspirations and any challenges, your financial situation, stage of your life’s journey and how you consider and approach investment risk. Your investment strategy is built to your specific needs and values to give you the highest likelihood of achieving your goals, while balancing risk, as well as return.

Your document will include several scenarios detailing the draw-downs your investments could support. We will explore different retirement ages and likely levels of retirement expenditure. Clients gain a huge sense of clarity from this exercise.

While our discussions take into account ‘your whole picture’ including cash management, insurances and tax, my full financial plan service may not be required for you. Instead, additional free ‘capsules’ of advice are provided over time, as and when required. A common capsule is one on Estate Planning, drafted upon selling the family home and moving to a retirement village, or say upon a second marriage – discussing your options and ways of owning assets to protect wealth for yourself and future generations.

My Investment Advice is dynamic and evolves with your changing circumstances. I’ll guide and advise on investment plan transitions throughout your life and life-style changes.

Financial Planning

Being able to enjoy a comfortable lifestyle in retirement, is a goal many of my clients share.

A financial plan is a road map. It embodies your short, medium and longer term needs with your current circumstances, to ensure wealth is created, protected and capable of supporting you over your lifetime.

At its core is an investment strategy. It also includes an analysis of your cash flow management, asset and estate planning, and of course your appetite and understanding of investment risk. Portfolio design is crucial to asset protection and to establishing an expected level of growth.  Family trusts can be a vital part of an investor’s armoury, also understanding the nuances of tax, superannuation entitlements and the appropriateness of insurances.

Your personalised plan is drafted to align with your values and priorities. Woven into this will be scenarios detailing different retirement ages, maybe semi-retirement too and likely levels of retirement expenditure. Clients gain a huge sense of clarity from this exercise.

Ultimately, I strive to provide guidance as we work towards achieving the retirement you desire in all phases of life — from your accumulation of wealth, to your transition into retirement, distribution and even the legacy you provide.

The one certainty that we all face is that of change. Your financial plan is revised as your life and circumstances change, to ensure that it remains relevant and on track.

“My goal is to remove the complexity and make investing and wealth creation make sense.”
